a private sectary popularly called p.a is a person employed by another for his personal work and correspondence. But she is not a mere typist or stenographer She has to do much more than that . she is the right arm of her employer . Dozens of times during the day the employer must depend on her taking dictations and transcribing them bringing for her meterial from tha files arranging his appointment schedule meeting callers answering the teiephone even adjusting his window shade and sharpening his pencil. hence the term 'private secretry ' has com to mean an assistant to an executive.
