is the secretary a mere typist

From the foregoing it is apparent that a secretary is not just a person who has acquiried a hiogh degree of skill in short hand typing and  English. She has com to mean somthing special to her employer; she is not merely his stenographer her employer wants tobe free from the worries of routine funtions such as mailing  correspondence , filling  indexing  making appointment and engagements arranging meeting and collecting information. these function properly relate to the secretarial work . thus a secretary is not a mere steno she is something more than that.
